Sinead O'Connor

It was October of 1992 when Sinead O'Connor took the stage of Saturday Night Live. The performance is legendary, an a capella version of Bob Marley's "War" with her hairless head framed by the giant earplugs to keep her in tune. At the end of the song, she produces a photo of Pope John Paul II and rips it to shreds. Missed in the ensuing hoopla is how wonderful her performance was.
